My grandpa was a barber and we still have one of the chairs from his shop. It is a 1912 Presidential barber chair with nickle plating (before chrome). The porcelain and leather are all in great shape. The Nickle trim is pitted with rust and turning green in some places. Also the brass tacks securing the leather are tarnished almost black. What would be the easiest and cheapest way to restore the shine on this chair? I'm looking for a solution somewhere between re-plating it with nickle again and using Mexican Chrome (silver spray paint).
BTW: I'm placing this in auto because of the similarity of restoring nickle plating and upholstery.
