Dry firing, semi -autos, and 100+ yr old revolver?

Is it bad to dry fire firearms(all types), would it be better to use snap caps? Why or why Not?

Also, I was wondering can a single action semi auto (like a 1911) be carried safely with the hammer down/c o c k e d? (it got filtered out so I had to space it out) If so how does that work?

Lastly, has anybody ever heard of the Husqvarna Nagant 1887 Swedish revolver. I found one in my grandfather's home. I suspect it to be more than a hundred years old. It is SA/DA and still has original bluing with very minor rust spots. I know it is chambered for 7.5mm Swedish, does that cartridge still exist?

THANK YOU, I am here to learn.
I need to clarify, I meant carrying a 1911 with the hammer down in a concealed carry situation. Not that I am going to do it, but I just randomly thought about it. You know, just curious
